Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, we have successfully completed his rescue. Dokeo now enjoys the freedom and care he deserves at Mekong Elephant Park, where he will spend the rest of his days in peace, surrounded by his companions. This milestone is a testament to the collective efforts of all who contributed to making his rescue a reality—thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
After years of working in the logging industry, Dokeo is finally free. No more heavy loads, no more tourist on his back. Instead, he now spends his days with mahouts Noy Peak and Vee strolling along the Mekong River, walking freely, feeling the earth beneath his feet, and embracing the sounds of nature.

We’re thrilled to announce that Mekong Elephant Park has received the Gold certification from ACES (Asian Captive Elephant Standards) this year!
First achieved in 2022, this prestigious recognition highlights our continued commitment to the highest welfare standards for our elephants, ensuring ethical tourism and conservation remain at the core of everything we do.
During the accreditation audit, every aspect is thoroughly examined, from staff contracts and elephant welfare to mahout working conditions, sleeping arrangements, and environmental practices, ensuring full compliance with the highest standards.
Passing the accreditation process once again reinforces our mission and motivates us to keep pushing for a better future for elephants in Southeast Asia.
